Train To Bismarck

Ok everybody here's where it starts. The purpose of this session is to be a meet and greet. Get into character and shoot the shit. This is going to be your first time really being able to sit down and see your fellow members.

First I'm going to go over a little bit of etiquette.

I want you to make where you're directing yourself to be completely obvious. If you're speaking use "quotes" to show any sort of dialogue. Be sure to keep it in first person as well. YOU ARE YOUR CHARACTER. All actions will just be in plain old text...and if you feel that you're attempting something that requires some sort of chance at all...roll the d20 and show the result. If you need any sidenote input at all, or perhaps need some elaboration from me, put those into (parenthesis) and place it at the END of your post. On top of all this, of course I want you to do your best to spell correctly and have good grammar. I won't be a nazi about it, however...I want to see that you're TRYING. Ok then, let's give this a shot then!



Your new established team is all registered and ready to go. Eager to start your new career to climb the ranks of Crawling, you learn of an exhibition match being held in Bismarck, Dakota 10 days from now. After a fresh register in Aberdeen, Dakota...you try to find the quickest mode of transport to make sure you get there in time. Small-time research shows you that train is the fastest mode of transport. Anna, a team member of your's and President/CEO of your sponsor, has decided to treat you all to a nice and comforting first class ride.

Upon getting your tickets, you are escorted by 4 well-dressed men, mostly the bouncer-type they seem. You can easily spot that each have a longsword on their back, and a pistol holstered to the hip. They guide you through a passenger car that seems rather regal. Exotic paintings decorate the wall, and bottled wine sits upon the public tables. Your feet comfortably springs against the smooth carpet as you walk by the many seats that seem to be already occupied. To your surprise, you are actually guided to the front of the car, and directed to pass through yet another door. You come to a car that appears to be almost like a 5-star hotel hallway. You can see several rooms to your right, and windows to your left with a small balcony peeking on edge. Two of the men stand by the door you just passed through, as the others stand on either of your line to walk you to a private cabin. At the very end, the guard who took point opens the door for you, holding his arm straight out announcing in a deep, yet soft tone.

"This will be your quarters for the duration of your ride."

Looking inside is a room that is roughly 30 x 30 ft and perfectly squared. The window that edges the cabin takes up most of the wall allowing for a tremendous view of the train station. 4 red, leather eats are against the wall to your left and right...(Totaling In the middle is a 5x5 table with a glass door in the center. You can see several types of wine being stored behind the display.

"If you need anything else, there is a buzzer right here." He points right next to the door. "Don't be afraid to call if you need food, entertainment, or perhaps some adjustments of any sort. So, hang back and enjoy yourselves. It's going to be a long 200 miles to Bismarck." He nods to each of you personally before turning around and heading to the front of the car.

"Damn, this is nice" I say, smiling, as I reach for some wine,"Thanks Anna,". I proceed to sit back in my seat and sip alcohol.

Of course the wine is sweet and strong in flavor, and to follow it up, sitting in the seat fills you with a feathery comfort that puts your body entirely at ease.

"I'll say.." I mutter, smiling back. "Are there any cups in here? I'd like to have a glass of wine myself."

I pause and observe the fact that I'm drinking straight from the bottle. "Uh, I suppose I'll have a glass as well!" I say, slapping the buzzer

Nods her head. "Your most welcome, Natalya." Looks around. "Well, these are certainly fine decorations." Walks over to look at the curtains.

"I prefer to stay sober." I leave the alcohol where it lays, and instead check the time, waiting for further notice as I sit in the back of the room.

The curtains are a fine silk, and of a bright crimson that is bordered with gold design at the edges. A crank is slightly hidden behind them, almost put there discreetly, it seems.

I chuckle as I say, "I just don't think I'd be able to drink an entire bottle myself." I'm Gwendhiel by the way." (Assuming we don't know one another to that extent..)

The buzzer rings an obnoxious echo that causes a tingle to your ears even moments after it fades. No immediate service appears to respond.

Turns to Gwendhiel. "Where are my manners!?" I exclaim. "My name is Anastrianna, what is yours dear?"

It is assumed that you all only really know of Natalya. Even so, it's on a rather low level that you even know her.

"Nice to meet you, Anastrianna." I pause, shaking your hand "and may I say thank you."

"Vladus! Get out of that corner and enjoy some damn booze," I exclaim as I wave my bottle around. I frequently check the door for sign of our servers

" I think nice might be an understatement, Natalya." I throw myself onto on of the leather seats and place my feet on the table, " I'm surprised this cabin doesn't have a second floor."

"Oh, um...your welcome. One moment, please Gwen." Goes over to buzzer and rings again.

As much as you eye the door, or ring the buzzer. No service comes.

A series of ringing goes off before you hear a loud voice speak.

"This your captain, I go now!" a harsh voice casts into the room. "Sit back, enjoy good ride. Thanks for choosing the better place."

After a loud whistle, the ground below you vibrates enough to distort your vision, and travel up your legs. After a minute or so of this, you feel the train progress forward, vibrations becoming stronger as it does.

"Right? I've never seen anything like it Kirtus!" I take another sweep of my surroundings, appreciating the extravagances of it. The movement of the train takes me off guard and I jump a bit.

"Natalya, do not start begging me to drink, you know it ruins your ability to think. I'd rather not be a half-wit, you won't be drinking while we are crawling I hope."

" Just call me Kirt, Kirtus sounds kind of ... dumb."

With another good glance at the room, it was easy to miss before, but there are small wooden alcoves just above each seat. Just large enough to fit a wine glass in them. (And...of course, actually wine glasses in them)

"Oh, pssh..." I roll my eyes at Vladus and jump up and grab a few glasses, I proceed to distribute them. As I pour wine in each glass I remark, "Oh, well would you care for some wine Kirt?"

"Everything seems to be wonderful, except the service here." I say, taking a glass from Natalya and getting comfortable in my seat.

Walks warily back to the curtain. "Natalya, look at this..." pulls the cutain back releavling the crank.

"How can you call the server bad here? None of you have tried calling them yet."

"Uh ... Sure, why not? " I reach for a glass.

"Eh, perhaps they're short handed?" I say. I smile as I finish pouring wine for everyone, then peer at the crank. "Yeah, what about it?"

"They are never short-handed." I say quietly. Still looking at the crank. "What do you think it's for. It's quite eerie."

"Well.." I say, turning to Vladus. "The man that directed us here told us to press the buzzer for any sort of need. It has been pressed and yet, no one has come." I pause, and turn to Natalya. "That could be, I wasn't demeaning the extravagance at all, merely commenting." I add, as I take a sip of wine.

"Pull it, see what happens!" I chuckle, turning toward Anna (referring to crank). I turn back to face Gwen, then shrug nonchalantly.

"Gwen, both Natalya and I have pressed it."

"Or maybe they're not very sharp. Did any of you hear that conductor?" I then try to chug my wine, but end up coughing on it a little. I quickly sit up in my seat and pretend nothing happened.

"I suppose I must have mistaken the buzzing sound for something else."

Looks over at Natalya. "I... don't know if I should, but okay." Pulls lever.

"Ha!" I let a chuckle escape after hearing Kirt's remark,"Certainly, that could be it!". I react with surprise as Anna pulls the crank.

(Lol, guys, it's a crank, not a Lever...you know...like a lever, but you spin it, not pull it. XD)

Nothing happens...

(Well I meant pull it as in crank it, I just felt weird saying 'crank the crank')

"Well that was a complete waste of my time." Scowls and walks to the bar to pour some wine.

I observe the surroundings as I take another swig and rest my back against the seat. "Hmm.."

" Eh... " I look at Anastrianna with a confused look. "I'm no train surgeon, but maybe you should try turning the crank instead of pulling on it?"

"Eh, good point..." turns crank.

As you turn the crank, the curtains slowly come to a close...a loud crackling goes with each turn.

I chuckle, placing my hand over my mouth in attempts to be inconspicuous. Getting up, I stumble a bit trying to balance, I walk over and pour myself some more wine.

Rolls my eyes. "That was still an emence waste of my time." Goes to bar and pours myself a glass of wine.

"Exciting!" I laugh while the curtains close. I stand up from my seat, then try to see if I can find any alcohol other than wine.

Looking at the display case, really all you can see is different exotic wines. Most of which you've never heard of, nor can you pronounce.

A knock pounds against the door as you hear a young woman's voice yell "Did someone call for assistance?"

Takes careful steps, as not to spill my wine, over to the sofas and sits. "So where is everyone from? Hm?" Looks at the woman. "I'm sorry we couldn't find the wine glasses, but we found them now."

"Yes! I need to know ma'am, is there any vodka on this train?" I try to say politely. I turn to face Anna, then reply with a smirk,"The fine village of Grevitch, m'lady!"

"Whew, I should really lay off this wine." I say, rubbing the side of my head. "I'm really feeling it now.."

The door opens, and reveals a slender, red-haired half-elf. While her skirt reaches her knees, her blouse is quite provocative.

"Is there a problem with the wine?" she tilts her head, looking at Natalya curiously.
